A Veggie a Day Keeps the Headache Away
Dull, daylong headaches can be an extra burden on your health and mood. Most are caused by an imbalance of glucose or sodium and how they move in your bloodstream. Cutting back on sweets, salts, and processed foods and choosing more veggies, low sugar fruits and whole grains to your intake really helps. Try starting your day with a protein and an added vegetable such as an egg with last night’s leftover vegetable (broccoli, cauliflower, or squash work well) scrambled in or a whole grain with low sugar fruit and a protein such as oatmeal with a few berries and nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts are great choices). Do a little stretching or yoga first to get the blood pumping then have your breakfast and enjoy a headache-free day.
