Hair Remedy Recipes
Taking care of your hair can be easy and effective. Try one of these remedies for a quick fix with ingredients you have in your fridge or pantry.
Avocado Conditioning
Avocado is rich in vitamins B and E which work at the cellular level to condition, protect and strengthen hair. Apply mashed avocado over damp hair from roots to ends, leave on for twenty minutes then rinse, shampoo and condition.
Mayonnaise Moisturizer
Mayonnaise contains L-cysteine, a powerful antioxidant, and can be used as a deep conditioning and moisturizing treatment for dry or brittle hair. Apply to damp hair, concentrating on the damaged ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave on for 30 minutes, then rinse and shampoo.
Olive Oil Strengthener
Olive oil contains vitamins A, E, and K to make hair soft, strong, and shiny and protects the protein keratin in your hair by sealing the moisture in. Apply slightly warmed olive oil to dry hair, or apply to damp hair before wrapping a hot towel around your head. The heat will help the oil penetrate the hair cuticle. Leave on for at least an hour or even sleep on it.
Dandruff Relievers
Rinse your hair with strong-brewed, antioxidant-packed green tea, which helps exfoliate the scalp to get rid of flakes.
Steep 3 teaspoons of rosemary with 1 cup of boiled water in a saucepan or a cup and let it steep for at least 10 minutes. Once cooled, massage the treatment into your scalp when you shampoo to reduce dandruff flakes.
Wash hair with a tea tree oil shampoo or add a few drops to your shampoo. Tea tree oil, an essential oil with antiseptic properties, can conquer dandruff naturally by penetrating the outer layers of your scalp. It disinfects deeply while unblocking hair follicles and gets rid of dandruff.
